THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS “OVERRATED” OR “UNDERRATED” — ONLY UNRANKED

“Overrated” and “underrated” might be the most overused—and meaningless—words in sports and entertainment.

(For brevity, I’ll focus on “overrated,” but the same logic applies in reverse.)

Think about it.

When someone says an athlete, musician, movie, or TV show is “overrated”… what are they actually saying?

👉 “I personally rank them lower than most people.”

That’s it.

🧠 The Problem

There is no official ranking system for almost anything in sports or entertainment.

No universal scoreboard. No agreed-upon standard.

Just a bunch of scattered opinions and individual lists.

So when people argue:

  • “He’s overrated”
  • “That movie is overrated”
  • “She’s underrated”

…it’s all just noise.

🚀 Until Now

Because that’s exactly the problem I set out to solve with my new site:

UltimateRankings(.com)

For the first time, fans can:

  • vote
  • build their own rankings
  • and have those rankings aggregated together

Not just all-time—but also:

  • current
  • yearly awards
  • monthly and weekly trends
  • even regional rankings (in select categories)

🎯 Why This Matters

If there’s a true answer to questions like:

  • Who is the GOAT in basketball?
  • Who is the best NFL quarterback ever?
  • What’s the greatest movie or TV show?

…shouldn’t that be decided by thousands or millions of knowledgeable fans

instead of a few hundred sportscasters, writers, or voters?

Of course.

The same goes for:

  • music
  • movies
  • TV
  • comedians
  • even “sexiest” rankings

👉 Why should a small group decide for everyone?

🧠 The Better Way

Now, everyone can:

  • build their own rankings
  • compare with others
  • and contribute to a true consensus

So instead of random opinions, we get:

👉 real data 👉 real comparisons 👉 and the closest thing possible to a real answer

🏁 Final Thought

“Overrated” isn’t analysis.

👉 It’s just disagreement without a ranking.

So instead of saying someone is overrated (or underrated)…

build your list and see how it compares.

👉 So stop saying overrated. Start ranking.
